Abraham David, Executive Vice President of House of Travel, the General Sales Agents for India’s flag carrier Air India and Indian Airlines took over as the Chairman of the Kuwait India Business Council (KIBC) on Tuesday when elections were held during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for the period 2005-2007.
The Kuwait India Business Council which is affiliated to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India’s apex industry is a non-profit association of Indian and Kuwaiti businessmen and professionals actively engaged in promoting bilateral trade relations between Kuwait and India.
The AGM was presided over by Council member and Honorary Luxemborg Trade Consul Iqbal Qureshi with KIBC Governor Dr. Ali Al Shamali conducting the election proceedings as the Returning Officer.
Other members of the KIBC’s Executive Committee who were elected unanimously include Iqbal Qureshi -Vice Chairman, Markos Williams – General Secretary, M.A. Hilal – Joint Secretary, Qutubuddin Vadiwala – Treasurer and Rajesh Sagar - Legal Advisor. During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al Shamali was nominated by the new Executive Committee and the General Body as Business Advisor to the Council.
